Mauro de la Fuente at work in the studio
FIG. 01 · STUDIO

Buenos Aires born.
Dublin built.
All ink.

Mauro picked up his first machine at fifteen, working out of a back-room studio in La Plata, Buenos Aires. A decade later he moved north — Dublin became home, and the studio on South William Street became the work.

Fifteen years in, his practice sits between two illustrative traditions: neo-traditional bold-line work, and anime-influenced illustration drawn from 90s cels, comic-book contour, and Mucha-era poster line.

Sessions are small, slow, and one-on-one. Custom work only.

A practice of opposites.

01 · Anime

Anime
illustration.

Cel-style figure work translated to skin. Bold black contour, flat colour blocking, dramatic light. Characters, creatures, portraits — all custom, never copied frame-for-frame.

02 · Neo-Traditional

Neo-
traditional.

Heavy black, rich saturation, classical composition. Roses, daggers, tigers, snakes — drawn through a modern lens with bolder line weights and more illustrative shading than the trad canon allows.
